SHE-UNET Leadership Training in Stockholm: Building Stronger Support Networks for Ukrainian Women
In October 2025, the SHE-UNET project brought together leaders, professionals, and community organizations from across Europe for a Leadership Training hosted by Vallentuna kommun in Stockholm, Sweden.
Participants from Sweden, the Netherlands, and Italy gathered to exchange knowledge, strengthen partnerships, and explore new approaches to leadership, empowerment, and integration. Representing the SHE-UNET partnership were organizations including Vallentuna kommun, Netwerkpro, Centro per lo Sviluppo Creativo Danilo Dolci ETS, Help in Change, SVIT UA, Sensus Diplomutbildningar, Österåkers kommun, and Täby kommun. Together, these organizations share a commitment to supporting Ukrainian women and refugees through education, guidance, and community engagement.
The training was specifically designed for leaders and professionals working with Ukrainian women and refugee communities across Europe. Through interactive workshops, discussions, and collaborative learning activities, participants explored leadership skills, community empowerment, and strategies for fostering inclusion. The programme provided practical tools and methodologies that can be applied within their own organizations and local communities.
Beyond the learning activities, the training offered an invaluable opportunity to strengthen international cooperation. Participants shared experiences, challenges, and successful practices from their respective countries, creating a rich environment for mutual learning and inspiration.
The Stockholm training demonstrated the power of collaboration. By bringing together organizations with different expertise, backgrounds, and perspectives, SHE-UNET continues to build a strong European network dedicated to supporting Ukrainian women as they navigate new opportunities, rebuild their lives, and become active participants in their communities.
