SHE-UNET is European initiative supporting Ukrainian women who have relocated to The Netherlands, Sweden and Italy. The project strengthens local organisations by transforming them into inclusive empowerment hubs, safe and supportive environments where women can grow, connect and thrive.

Project overview

SHE-UNET promotes collaboration among organisations working with migrant women. It equips staff and leaders with practical tools and training to enhance inclusive leadership, wellbeing and empowerment strategies that is tailored for the Ukrainian women.

Why it Matters

Since the onset of the war in Ukraine many women have sought safety and resettlement across Europe. While they bring resilience and ambition integrating into new societies present personal challenges. Local organisations play key role in their transition by offering guidance, education, labor markets access and sense of community.

How it works

The project will unfold in five phases:

Needs assessment. Interviews and surveys for both leaders and staff in empowerment hubs to help identify what support most needed

Leadership training: 15 organisational leaders will gather in Stockholm for training sessions in inclusive leadership and to meet their peers across Europe.

Train- the- Trainer course, staff form each organisation will attend training session in Palermo, Italy. They will learn how to deliver and to pass on empowerment trainings.

04

Local empowerment sessions. The newly trained staff will lead workshops for 12 Ukrainian women, focusing on confidence, goal-setting and community building.

Sharing results, A European conference and local events showcasing project’s outcomes and impact
